1811.- El Gobierno de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata otorga el título de ciudadano argentino al artillero inglés Roberto Billinhurst, por sus relevantes servicios a la causa nacional.
1815.- El general realista Pezuela gana la Batalla de Viluma (Alto Perú), con lo que la causa de la independencia argentina sufre un serio revés.
1869.- Buenaventura Báez firma un tratado para anexar República Dominicana a Estados Unidos.
1877.- Edison hizo la primera presentación pública del fonógrafo, invento que patentó en febrero de 1878.
1898.- El escritor y filósofo español Ángel Ganivet, uno de los precursores ideológicos de la generación del 98, se suicida en Riga, Letonia.
1899.- Fundación del Fútbol Club Barcelona por Joan Gamper, un suizo afincado en Cataluña.

2014.- The former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak is acquitted for the death of protesters in the revolution that overthrew him in 2011.
2017.- The Bosnian Croat general Slobodan Praljak commits suicide in the Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague.
2017.- The historic trial for crimes of the Argentine dictatorship concludes in Buenos Aires with 48 convictions, 29 of them life imprisonment. Among those convicted of said sentence are ex-military members Jorge Eduardo Acosta and Alfredo Astiz.
2021.- Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, leaves the company.
