ESTADOS UNIDOS.- Les contamos los aniversarios del 29 de octubre, el eventos más importantes ocurrió en una fecha como hoy entre 1508 y 2022.

1500

1508.- Fernando el Católico firma la Real Provisión por la que confiere al almirante Diego Colón (hijo del descubridor de América) la gobernación de las Indias, islas y Tierra Firme.

1700

1787.- Estreno de la ópera “Don Giovanni” de Mozart en el Teatro Estatal de Praga (Checoslovaquia).

1800

1816.- Es fusilado en Bogotá el astrónomo y geógrafo Francisco José de Caldas, acusado de conspiración contra los poderes establecidos. Hoy es considerado un héroe nacional de Colombia.

1821.- Se proclama la independencia de Costa Rica.

1900

1922.- El rey de Italia, Víctor Manuel III, encargó a Benito Mussolini formar gobierno.

1923.- Kemal Ataturk ocupa la presidencia de la nueva República de Türkiye.

1929.- En Nueva York tiene lugar el llamado “Martes Negro”, en el que se producen grandes caídas en las cotizaciones bursátiles, origen de la Gran Depresión o el Crash del 29, una de las mayores crisis económicas del siglo XX.

1947.- The Customs Union Agreement between Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, better known as Benelux, is founded in Brussels.

1956.- The Sinai War begins between Israel, France and England against Egypt for control of the Suez Canal.

1959.- The French magazine “Pilote” publishes the first issue of the Asterix and Obélix saga.

1964.- The Republic of Tanzania is formed from the union of two states: Tanganyika and Zanzibar.

1969.- Two universities in California (United States) send the first message to each other through their respective computers, marking the birth of the first long-distance network, Arpanet.

.- The Argentine government founds the Vicecomodoro Marambio Air Base in Antarctica.

1992.- The presidents of Spain, Felipe González, and of Colombia, César Gaviria, sign, in Madrid, a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between both countries.

nineteen ninety five.- Abel Goldman, a 64-year-old British man, receives the first permanent electric heart. He survived five months.

nineteen ninety six.- Troops from Rwanda and Zaire clash in the eastern provinces of this country and some 600,000 Hutu refugees from Rwanda and Burundi are forced to flee due to attacks by Tutsi extremists.

1998.- Discovery is launched from Cape Canaveral (USA) with seven crew members on board, including the Spanish Pedro Duque and the American John Glenn.

1999.- The government of Spain authorizes the launch in Madrid of the Latin American Stock Exchange in euros.

2000.- The Sydney Paralympic Games conclude.

2004.- The 25 member countries of the European Union (EU) sign the first European Constitution in Rome (Italy).

.- Preventive detention is ordered for the former president of Costa Rica, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, accused of acts of corruption.

– The Ibero-American Judicial Cooperation Network (Iber Red) is established in Cartagena (Colombia) to combat organized crime.

2006.- Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is re-elected president of Brazil.

.- Serbs approve in a referendum a Constitution that defines Kosovo as an integral part of the country.

– Joseph Kabila triumphs in the presidential elections, the first democratic ones in 46 years in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

2008.- “Simón Bolívar”, Venezuela’s first telecommunications satellite built in China, is launched into space.

2012.- Hurricane “Sandy” causes the largest flood in the history of New York and forces Wall Street to close.

2013.- The National Assembly of Panama approves the bill that reforms the political division of the national territory and creates the province of Panama Oeste, the tenth in the country.

.- Türkiye inaugurates the first tunnel under the Bosphorus that links Europe with Asia.

2015.- China announces the end of the one-child policy and allows two per couple.

2016.- The XXV Ibero-American Summit concludes in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia).

2018.- A plane with its 189 occupants crashes in the Java Sea, Indonesia.

2020.- The Emirati company Etihad Airways becomes the first airline to issue “sukus” or bonds in accordance with the Islamic “transitional” religion in aviation, valued at 600 million dollars.

2021.- Brazil authorizes the use of canabidiol, a medicine derived from marijuana, imported from Colombia. Sold in pharmacies, it can only be sold with a medical prescription.

.- The Parliament of Poland approves the construction of a wall to reinforce its border with Belarus.

– Airbus announces that it has carried out a first test flight with one of its A319neo aircraft, powered solely by sustainable aviation fuel, that is, basically frying oil.

2022.- It is announced in Bologna (Italy) that a 41-year-old Italian woman, who overcame breast cancer, became pregnant with twins thanks to eggs frozen 14 years ago and donated by another woman. It is the first time in the world that the fertility of vitrified and cryopreserved oocytes for such a long time has been documented.

– At least 154 people die and more than a hundred are injured in a stampede during Halloween celebrations in Seoul (South Korea).
