ESTADOS UNIDOS.- Te contamos las efemérides de la 9 de abrillos hechos más importantes que ocurrieron en un día como hoy entre los años de 1548 y 2022.
El 9 de abril de 2003 entró en vigor el régimen de Saddam Hussein tras la entrada de vehículos blindados estadounidenses en Bagdad.

1933.- El presidente peruano Luis Miguel Sánchez Cerro deroga la constitución de 1920 promulgada por Augusto Leguía.

1948.- Murder in Bogotá of the leader of the Colombian liberal party Jorge Eliecer Gaitán. The violence that followed originated the so-called “bogotazo”.

1966.- Cardinal Ottaviani announces in Rome the annulment of the Index of books prohibited by the Catholic Church.
1967.- First flight of the Boeing 737, in the city of Seattle (United States).
1973.- Israel launches the Youth Spring operation in Lebanon against important PLO targets, in revenge for the Munich massacre.
1986.- Benazir Bhutto, leader of the opposition, returns to Pakistan after two years of voluntary exile in London.
1987.- Historic visit of the top Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, to Czechoslovakia.
1989.- The Soviet army crushes an anti-Soviet demonstration in Tbilisi (Georgia), known as the April 9 Tragedy.
1991.- The Soviet Republic of Georgia declares itself independent of the USSR.
1992.- Sali Berisha, elected first democratic president of Albania since 1924.
1998.- 118 people die in Mecca crushed by a crowd.
1999.- The President of Niger, General Ibrahim Baré Minasara, is assassinated during a coup.
2003.- The European Parliament approves the EU Accession Treaty of ten new countries.

2005.- Carlos de Inglaterra and Camila Parker Bowles contracted a civil marriage at the Windsor Town Hall.
2006.- Legislative elections in Italy. “La Unión”, a coalition headed by Romano Prodi, obtains an absolute majority in the Chamber of Deputies.
2007.- Iran announces that it produces uranium at an industrial level.
2008.- The Kosovar Parliament approves the Constitution.
2012.- Facebook acquires Instagram for 1,000 million dollars.
2012.- Colombia commemorates the National Day of Remembrance and Solidarity with the Victims.
2017.- Forty-six dead in two attacks against Coptic churches in northern Egypt.
2018.- Ex-guerrilla and leader of the FARC political party Jesús Santrich, future congressman, has been arrested in Bogotá (Colombia).
2019.- The OAS recognizes the Venezuelan Gustavo Tarre as a permanent representative “designated” by the Parliament of Venezuela, chaired by the opposition leader, Juan Guaidó.
2020.- The Eurogroup agrees on a package of economic measures that will mobilize half a billion euros in loans to support States, companies and workers against the coronavirus.
2021.- The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, dies at the age of 99.
2022.- Europe supports Ukraine with heavy weapons, financial aid and promises to join the EU.
